I am looking for a new computer and need some suggestions?

I am shopping for a new computer. I have been looking at the Dell and Sony touch screen all in one units that have the cpu built in the monitor but am wary of this new technology. Does anyone have recommendations between those and a good regular old desktop CPU? I am limited in funds, so have less than $1000 to spend so can't afford the cly computers. My main useage is internet but don't do a lot of downloading and fancy stuff, I do a lot of photograph storage, word processing and play offline pc games but mainly hiddenn object and cheaper games. I don't need anything fancy, just need something with good memory and storage. Any recommendations for a good and reasonable computer is appreciated.
