I'm scared to meet new people, help!?

When I transfer schools I'm not sure if I'll make new friends. I'm really shy and at the school I'm going to I barely know but one person who I went on one date with lke 6 months ago :(. I don't like him at all now or anything. Do you think people will talk to me? Or do you think they'll only talk to me if I look cute enough for them since some people are really shallow?
