Should I buy a home that needs much updating (cheaper) or a home that's ready to move in (pricier)?

If you are able to put $44,000 consisting of material and time into Home 1 and all the while making it better than Home 2 then it would be the best deal ($44,000 coming form the differences in asking prices). You must also consider any loan that you may have and the interest rate and length.
